Is it okay to apply body lotion before going in to the tanning salon?
I get out of the shower in the morning, and usually don’t go tanning until late afternoon. My skin becomes dry after the shower, so I usually put on lotion. I don’t take another shower until I’m back from the salon.
Is it okay to apply body lotion? Does it slow down the tanning process?
(I also use a tanning lotion right before I get into the bed.)
Should I just wait until I get to the salon to apply the tanning lotion and skip body lotion all together?

Actually you can use a body lotion that is designed for people who tan often. If you want a good brand recommendation, I would suggest Nova Defense because it is made by a pharmaceutical company and contain the only FDA approved bronzer. They also have regular tanning lotions, face cream for tanners and body lotion. Their products are supposed to repair UV damage as well. Their site also contain really good information about Tanning and give good tips of how to minimize skin damage. check it out even if you don’t buy from them.

Yes, yes, yes! Put that body lotion on when you get out of the shower, whether you are tanning that day or not. As long as it doesn’t contain sunscreen, it will not slow the tanning process. Rather, it will enhance it, as moist skin tans much faster and better than dry skin.
When you get to the salon in the afternoon, you’ll still need to apply your tanning lotion before entering the bed. Tanning lotions have special ingredients to help absorb UV light and to keep your skin healthy while tanning, Some lotions even contain bronzing agents to help you tan better and keep your color longer.
Good luck, and make sure to wear your protective eyewear (goggles) in the sunbed!!!
